Why Hot Yoga? What are the benefits?

Heat facilitates a deeper release, reduces the chance of injury, and stimulates the circulatory system.

What should I wear to a Hot Yoga class?

The best clothing for a Hot Yoga class are close-fitting, breathable sports attire. Be prepared to sweat so you be the judge on what would be most comfortable for you.

How should I prepare for class?

Arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of class, 30 minutes if it is your first class. You will get the best results if you hydrate and eat a light snack 1-2 hours before class. Heavier meals should be finished 3 hours before practice. The best way to keep hydrated is to drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Do I need to be flexible before starting Yoga?

We often hear this question. No you do not need to be flexible before starting Yoga. That’s why you need to start! Like any other form of exercise, you will gradually build the strength and flexibility to do the poses.

How many times a week should I practice to see the benefits?

There are no hard and fast rules for how often to practice. If you are looking to make a real impact on your body you should consider practicing 4 to 5 times per week, coupled with a healthy diet and rest.

What should I expect from my first class?

You can certainly expect to sweat, a lot! You may also find the heat a little uncomfortable as well. Don’t take your first class as how it will always feel for you. Everyone is different on how long it takes them to get accustomed to practicing in the hot room.
